Food Truck Licensing 
Each food truck must obtain an annual license issued to the owner/operator. Licensing requires:

***A current Michigan Special Transitory Food Unit License (STFU) or Mobile Food Unit License (MFU) provided by any County or County Jurisdiction within the state of Michigan is required. 

Completed Food Trucks Permit forms and all required documents can be emailed to: fireprevention@macomb-mi.gov 

Important Dates
January 1st - Submit Applications 

March 1st to May 31st - Inspections

March 1st - Licenses Expire

Propane Safety & Fire Safety Inspections

Propane is commonly used in food trucks but requires strict safety measures to prevent accidents. Review the following resources to ensure compliance and safety.

Follow these steps to obtain your required permits: 

For Food Truck Licensing:
  1. Download and complete the Food Truck Application (PDF)
  2. Completed Food Truck permit forms and all required documents can be uploaded and emailed to fireprevention@macomb-mi.gov 
  3. Schedule and pass a safety inspection
