Macomb Township Building Department Fee Schedule
Registration
Residential Builder or Maintenance and Alteration Contractor: $20.00
Registrations shall be valid until the expiration date of the contractor license.
Building Permit Application Fee
A non-refundable fee shall be submitted at the time of application. Upon permit issuance, the application fee will be credited to the permit fee. Application fees shall be forfeited 180 days after the date of filing unless such application has been pursued in good faith or a permit has been issued; except that the building department is authorized to grant one or more extensions of time for additional time periods not exceeding 180 days. The extension shall be requested in writing and justifiable cause demonstrated.
Application fees are established as follows:
New single family residential: $150.00
Additions or alterations to multi-family residential, commercial and industrial: $100.00
New multi-family residential, commercial and industrial: $200.00
Building Permit Fees
Except where fees are indicated for specific projects, fees shall be calculated based on the construction value of the project. The construction value shall be as indicated on the permit application, but not less than a value calculated by the most recently published valuation schedule on the International Code Council at the time of application.

Building Plan Review
Signel family residential alterations, additions, accessory structures/buildings, decks, pools/hot tubs, temporary uses, fire repairs, signs, fences & concrete, etc.: $25.00
New single family residential: $100.00
New, additions or alterations to multi-family residential, commercial, industrial and other non-residential: 25% of BLDG permit fee, Min. $100.00
Plans meeting plan review waiver criteria, where a Master Plan Review has been previously approved: $50.00
RESIDENTIAL Plan Revisions: Submittals after permit issued and/or for excessive re-reviews, as determined by the Building Official: 25% of initial plan review fee
COMMERCIAL Plan Revisions: Submittals after permit issued and/or for excessive re-reviews, as determined by the Building Official: $25.00 per page
Plan Reviews conducted by consultants, as determined necessary by the Building Official: Consultants fee plus 25% administrative fee
Engineering
Review: New single and multi-family residential plot plan review: $350.00
Special Inspections
Changes of Use/Occupancy Inspection (each inspection category): $50.00
Hourly rate for inspections not otherwise a part of this scheduled: $50.00
Overtime rate for inspections (two-hour minimum): $75.00

Zoning

Concrete/Paver/Patio: $75.00
Certificate of Zoning Compliance (excluding any inspection fees that mat be required): $50.00

General Requirements
Re-Inspection Fees
Work not ready: $50.00
First re-inspection of violations noted on original inspection: No charge
Each additional re-inspection: $50.00
Renewal Fees
All building permits shall be initially valid for 180 days. Permits may be renewed for additional one-year periods subject to continuing reasonable progress of work and where such work has not been suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days. Renewal fee’s may be waived, as determined by the Building Official, when justifiable cause (e.g. complex or large project) is demonstrated in writing.
Annual Renewal Fees: 50% of original permit fee; maximum $500.00
Cancellation/Refunds
Upon written request, prior to the commencement of any work, permits may be cancelled with fees refunded less the application fee, plan review fees and a processing fee of $50.00 dollars. Cancellation fees shall not exceed the original cost of the permit.
Where any work has commenced prior to rough inspection, 50% of the permit fees may be refunded less the application fee, plan review fees and a processing fee of $50.00 dollars. Where any work has commenced beyond rough inspection, no fees may be refunded.
Transfers
Permits and permit fees are non-transferable.
