Dog Park Code of Conduct

For everyone's health, safety, and enjoyment of the park, the following rules and regulations have been instituted. Members are responsible for total compliance at all times.

In compliance with Macomb County Animal Control, an incident/bite report should be filed immediately for any incident involving bodily injury (broken skin) to persons or dogs. You may also want to create a police report by calling Macomb Country Sherrif's Office at 586-469-5151.

Memberships:

  • Only adults 18 years and older may apply may for a dog park membership.
  • Must provide proof of a current Macomb County dog license for membership approval.
  • Memberships are not transferable and may only be used by the issued household.
  • Up to 3 dogs per household may be registered to a membership.
  • Dog Park memberships are non-refundable.
  • Memberships will expire annually on January 31st. 

Access:

  • Use of the Dog Park is at the members' own risk.
  • Only members and their approved dogs are allowed to access the park.
  • Members 18 years and older may bring no more than 2 registered dogs at any one time.
  • Dogs must wear their Macomb County license tag.
  • Children between ages 5-17 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
  • Children under five (5) years old are not allowed.
  • Puppies under five (5) months old are not allowed.
  • Dogs in heat or pregnant are not allowed.
  • Dog Park is open from dawn to dusk.

Responsibility:

  • Members are legally responsible for any injuries or damage caused by their dogs.
  • Members must clean up their dog's waste and dispose of it in the receptacles provided.
  • Dogs must remain leashed until inside the park gate enclosure.
  • Members must remain with their dog inside the park at all times.
  • Dogs must be actively supervised and under the voice control of their owners at all times.
  • Limit phone calls to emergencies only to ensure your dog is being properly supervised.

Dog/Member Behavior:

  • Digging is not allowed
  • Toys are allowed, but if a dog becomes possessive, toys must be removed immediately.
  • Dogs excessively barking must be removed at the first sign of this behavior.
  • Dogs exhibiting aggression must be removed at the first sign of this behavior.
  • The smoking of any substance, and the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited.
  • Verbal or physical abusive behavior towards other members or their dogs will not be tolerated.
  • Any dog that bites another dog or human will be banned and no longer allowed in the park

Prohibited Items:

  • Pinch, prong, shock, or spiked collars
  • Glass containers
  • Human/dog food (including treats)
  • Laptops/tablets
  • Alcohol, cigarettes, cigars, marijuana
