Waste Hauler Contract Update!
To avoid disruptions to waste hauling services, the Macomb Township Board of Trustees will be taking up the matter of the waste hauler contract transfer from GFL to Priority Waste at tonight's Board meeting (June 24, 2024, at 6:30 PM).
We want to clarify a few key points regarding trash services:
- Priority Waste will honor all of the services outlined in the waste hauler contract, meaning all trash services will remain the same.
- There will be no changes to the cost of services or day of trash pickup.
- There will be changes to how bill payments are made after the transfer of services. Please check the Macomb Township website regularly as we will be working to update the site with more information.
We want to emphasize that additional information regarding services and Priority Waste will be made readily available on the Macomb Township website (www.macomb-mi.gov) over the next few days. Staff is working diligently to make sure all the information about the transfer is provided to you.
Notice of Ordinance Consideration
The Macomb Township Board of Trustees will meet on May 22, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. for the purpose of considering a text amendment to the Macomb Township Code of Ordinances being Chapter 11, Article III, Nuisance Code. The proposed amendment replaces the current Code of Ordinances Chapter 11, Article III, Nuisance Code with amended language and the title Chapter II Article III Noise Control Ordinance.
Noise Ordinance Update!
Please be aware that at the May 8, 2024, meeting, the Board of Trustees will be proposing to table adoption of the proposed noise ordinance until the May 22, 2024, meeting.
Staff has been working hard to add the final touches, but more time is needed to review the draft before publishing. It will not be completed in time to take up at the May 8 meeting.
We want to extend our appreciation for your input and engagement in this process. We appreciate your patience.
