No. The Township hires for so many different positions, it is not possible to continually accept applications for all of them. Applications are only accepted for current vacancies but you can sign up for free job subscription email notification service.
Position announcements are posted in the current Job Openings section on this website. In addition, positions are advertised on: MML.org, professional associations, trade journals, LinkedIn, Indeed and direct mail if for a specialized or technical field.
The only residency requirement is for a Paid-on-Call Firefighter position or Recruit Firefighter position. All other positions do not require residency in the Township.
Macomb Township is not Civil Service however, we have always structured our hiring process the same as a Civil Service community, i.e, competitive testing process that may include any combination of a written exam, oral interview, physical agility, psychological and a rating of past training and experience. Competitive testing determines each person’s qualification for the job, without regard to race, gender, age, disability, political affiliation, national origin or religious beliefs.
The Township is very competitive with their salary benefits offered to their employees. The fringe benefits offered include: medical, dental, vision, life, short term and long-term disability, retirement plan, PTO time, paid holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon union contract.
