Parks and Recreation Master Plan approved

The Macomb Township Parks and Recreation Department has a vision for the next five years now that the new Recreation Master Plan has been approved. Having beautiful, available, and accessible public spaces is the cornerstone of a thriving community. The 2023-2027 Master Plan’s goal is to create programs and parks that improve the quality of lives of our residents and meet their needs. Two new ZBA members sworn in at Board of Trustees meeting

Zoning Board of Appeals Welcomes new members

Two new members were sworn into the Zoning Board of Appeals during the January 25 Board of Trustees meeting. Paul Mazzara, a service engineer for Ford and a 47-year resident of Macomb, was approved and sworn in as the newest member of the ZBA. James Gammicchia, Community Economic Development Director in Roseville and an eight-year resident of Macomb was approved and sworn in as ZBA Alternate Position. The Zoning Board of Appeals consists of five positions and members must be a resident and serve 3-year terms. Macomb Meijer Celebrates Grand Opening

The brand new Macomb Meijer is open! The Meijer at 15375 24 Mile Road celebrated the opening of the new store on January 26. The store is a scaled-down version of the typical Meijer Supercenter and offers a wide selection of products including plenty of locally made items. As part of the opening, Meijer donated $10,000 to the Macomb Charitable Foundation. Take a look inside the new store HERE.

Parks and Recreation Hires Senior Citizen Programmer

Senior citizens in Macomb Township are going to have a lot more to do with the addition of a full-time Senior Citizen and Special Program Coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Department. During the January 11 Board of Trustees Meeting, board members approved the hiring of Aubrey Brohl to take on the position. Brohl has extensive experience working with seniors and previously worked for Macomb Township in a similar capacity. Find out more information about Brohl and the new position HERE.

Winter Tax Bill: Pay Now, Stress Less

While the last day to pay winter taxes without a penalty isn't until February 14, you can pay now to avoid unnecessary stress. Between December 1 and February 14, you can pay your bill with no penalty. On February 15, a three percent late fee will be added. At that point, you will have until the end of February to pay the bill. If it is still not paid the bill is transferred to the county and they will add a five percent fee. The three percent township fee is taken off. You can pay your bill online or learn more about paying your bill HERE.
