Pickleball Courts a Hit with Voracious Players

A crowd of athletes gathered in the stands at Macomb Corners Park on October 25, eager to break in Macomb Township’s very first outdoor pickleball courts. The old and under-utilized inline skating rink was taken down and in its place, two basketball courts and two pickleball courts were constructed. Some of the local players joined us while we christened the courts, including Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel. He gave Supervisor Viviano some pointers on mastering pickleball. Take a look at their day on the courts at macombtwp.org/pickleball101.

Map of traffic shift at 21 Mile and Garfield

Sewer Repair will Shift Traffic at 21 Mile and Garfield

Repair work to a sewer will cause a shift in traffic at 21 Mile Road and Garfield Road. The sewer is in the west right of way of Garfield Road and construction will necessitate the closure of the southbound curb lane of Garfield Road through the 21 Mile Intersection. There will be a traffic shift, but both northbound and southbound traffic, as well as all driveways, will be maintained. There will be no disruption to water or sewer service.
The traffic shift is expected to begin around November 14, 2022, and remain in service until the end of January 2023.
