Repairs continue on Broken GLWA Water Main

Following the 120" water main break on August 13, the Great Lakes Water Authority crews have been working hard to replace the damaged main. The work is expected to be finished later this month and the township-wide irrigation ban will remain in effect until the work is complete. You can learn more about the issue on the GLWA site. Severe storm causes damage, knocks out power around the township

Power lines leaning after storm damage

A severe storm rolled through Macomb Township on Monday, August 29 causing downed power lines, fallen trees, and power outages. More than 260,000 DTE customers around Metro Detroit were left without power, according to DTE. Crews were out Monday night working to secure locations with downed lines. Nearly 70-mile-per-hour winds took down around 3,000 power lines throughout the state. More than 1,000 linemen are working to get power restored with the help of another 1,000 linemen from out of state. For the latest information, check out the DTE outage center.

Macomb County Finishes Work on 21 Mile Bridge

21 Mile Road near Romeo Plank is back open after preventative maintenance. Work on the 21 Mile Road bridge over the Middle Branch Clinton River in Macomb Township started August 23. The project includes bridge preventative maintenance and joint replacement. 21 Mile Road was closed to thru traffic from Romeo Plank Road to Heydenreich Road.

Waldenburg Basketball Court Gets Major Upgrade

Our parks are a bright spot in our township, and Waldenburg Park is now a bright red spot! In early August the upgraded court was unveiled at the park. The new floor and hoops give adults and kids alike, a great way to get outdoors. Macomb Township Supervisor Frank Viviano even got out on the court to test his skills. CLICK HERE. Be Prepared when you head to the polls

The State General Election is Tuesday, November 8, 2022. It is important to visit mtvoter.org or contact the Clerk’s Office to verify your polling location and precinct number before you vote.
Due to redistricting, boundary lines decided by the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission forced changes to your polling locations. New voter ID cards have been mailed to all registered voters in Macomb Township.

Library "Super User" joins CMPL Board

August 17 was a big day for James Veal Jr! The self-proclaimed "super user" of the Clinton Macomb Public Library was sworn in as the newest member to represent Macomb Township on the Clinton Macomb Public Library Board. Just hours after taking his oath of office, James sat for his first board meeting. We're grateful to have someone so passionate about the library representing the township. Congrats James! Sheriff's Office Hosting Law Enforcement Academy for Seniors

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is hosting a law enforcement academy for seniors on September 12, 19, 26, and October 3, 9 a.m. -12 p.m. at Macomb Intermediate School District 44001 Garfield Clinton Twp (south entrance). Experience four unique workshops and learn about the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office. Includes continental breakfast and Q & A with Sheriff Wickersham. Registration is required, call (586) 307-9311.

With the hot, dry summer we've had, keep your family and your neighbors safe by:

  • Not burning near homes in subdivisions, condos, apartments, and mobile home parks.
  • Obtaining a permit before burning in an area where it's allowed.
