Vote by Mail (Absentee Ballot)


All registered voters may request a NO REASON MAIL-IN voting ballot.  Voters can request an application to vote by mail by contacting the Clerk’s Department at (586) 992-0710 x3, email elections@macomb-mi.gov or text MTCLERK to 555888 and follow the instructions.
Return your application by:
  • Emailing a picture of the application to clerks@macomb-mi.gov - Postage free.
  • Drive-up drop ballot drop box located in front of Townhall 54111 Broughton Rd (near the flag poles) – Postage free.
  • Drive-up ballot drop box located in front of the Marvin Blank Senior Center 51210 Alma Dr.Postage free.
  • Bringing the application to the Clerk’s office located on the 2nd floor at 54111 Broughton Road Macomb Township, MI 48042 - Postage free.
  • Return by mail with postage cost of $.55. Please allow 5-7 days for postal delivery during this time.

By adding yourself to the mailing list, you will automatically receive an absentee voter application for a ballot approximately 45 days prior to each election. You are required to complete and return the absentee voter application before the mail-in ballot can be issued for every election. If you would like to be added to our permanent mail-in voting list click here.

Please note that ELECTION MAIL IS NOT FORWARDABLE under Michigan Election law. If you will be receiving mail at a residence other than your permanent mailing location, please provide that address where indicated on the mail-in voting application.
Once the application is processed, you will receive your absent mail-in voter ballot.  You must complete the ballot and sign the return envelope and must be received by the Clerk’s office by 8:00pm on Election Day.
